Method
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Add the orzo, sliced beef sausage, chicken broth, Garlic & Herb Boursin Cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, oregano, garlic powder, and garlic salt to a baking dish.
- Make sure there is enough chicken broth to completely cover the orzo. About 3 cups was used in the original recipe.
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake at 425°F for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and stir everything together until the Boursin cheese is fully incorporated and the orzo is creamy.
- If the pasta has not absorbed all of the broth, return the dish to the oven uncovered and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the orzo is tender and creamy.
- Stir again and serve warm.
Notes
Use enough chicken broth to completely cover the orzo; approximately 3 cups was used in the original recipe.
If there is still excess broth after the initial 30 minutes, bake uncovered for another 5 to 10 minutes until the orzo absorbs the liquid and becomes creamy.
The amounts for sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, garlic, and seasonings were not specified in the original recipe, so add them to taste.
