Ingredients

Apple Base
  • 2 cans apple pie filling
Cookie Crumble Topping
  • 1 pouch oatmeal cookie mix dry mix
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter cold, thinly sliced
For Serving
  • vanilla ice cream for serving

Equipment

  • 9×13-inch baking pan
  • Knife
  • Serving Spoon

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Pour both cans of apple pie filling into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly across the bottom.
  3. Sprinkle the dry oatmeal cookie mix evenly over the apple pie filling, spreading it all the way to the edges. Do not stir.
  4. Cut the cold butter into thin slices and arrange them evenly over the cookie mix, making sure the corners and any dry areas are covered.
  5. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling around the edges.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the dessert rest for 10 minutes.
  7. Scoop into serving bowls and top with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Make sure every dry area of cookie mix is covered with butter. Uncovered spots may remain powdery instead of becoming crisp and golden.
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
For the best texture, reheat individual portions in the oven so the topping becomes crisp again.
For an extra treat, drizzle caramel sauce over the vanilla ice cream before serving.
